A St. Patrick's Day Feast
Eat Like a Dubliner
Even if you don’t plan on wearing green this St. Patrick’s Day (be pinched at your own risk!) There are still plenty of reasons to celebrate… mainly all the amazing Irish food and beer!
Over 34 million Americans have Irish ancestry, roughly 9 times the population of Ireland! Today, both Irish-Americans and non-Irish alike see the holiday as a way to honor Ireland's contributions to the world and our country.
And what awesome contributions Irish culture has made to the world of cuisine! We look forward to the prepared foods department cooking up their signature corned beef & cabbage all year. The recipe is also easy to make at home, even for those uninitiated to Irish food.
We have more recipes and suggestions for a scrumptious celebration below:
Our corned beef brisket is old fashioned, thin cut, barrel cured & at a remarkable price for such high quality cuts. We also have thick cut corned beef, porkette ham and, for the adventurous, cooked tongue.
Not in the mood to cook? Prepared Irish food will be available all week. Corned beef and cabbage, roasted root vegetables, and who could forget the potatoes! We also recommend Kerry Irish Gold butter with our store-baked Irish Soda bread.
Also try Caraluzzi’s slicing corned beef in our deli department. Place on some seeded rye bread with Kerry gold Irish slicing cheese to create a St. Patrick ’s Day meal instantly. Pair with Murphy’s Stout, Smithwick’s or Guinness.
An Irish Brunch
St. Patrick's day is the perfect excuse to cook a full Irish breakfast. Try Irish bangers & Irish bacon paired with McCann's instant Irish oatmeal makes for an easy feast. Decorate the table with green carnations. Simple, festive and fun... sounds lucky to us!
