Baked Italian Manicotti
This Italian dish is great served with a warm loaf of Italian Bread. In our family we also serve just one or two manicottis as a starter to accompany the holiday turkey or roast as part of the overall meal.
Equipment
- 1 Large Baking Dish 3Qt (approx. 13”x 19” x 2”), Aluminum Foil & Unslotted Spatula
Ingredients
- 2 Packages Caraluzzi’s Fresh Manicotti
- 1 Jar Caraluzzi’s Marinara Sauce 24oz
- 4-5 oz Shredded Whole Milk Mozzarella about ½ an 8oz bag
- 2 Tablespoons Shredded Parmesan Cheese 1 tablespoon if its grated
- Loaf of Italian Bread optional
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Pour ½ the jar of marinara sauce in bottom of the dish, spread evenly.
- Place manicotti in dish splitting it into two rows of 6.
- Pour the rest of the marinara sauce on top of manicotti to cover them in sauce.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top evenly
- Sprinkle shredded parmesan on top evenly.
- Cover dish in aluminum foil and put in oven along with foil wrapped Italian Bread (optional). Bake for 35-40 minutes. But set a timer for 25 minutes to remove foil on the dish and let finish for last 10-15 minutes uncovered.
- Use unslotted spatula to gently place manicotti on plates. The Caraluzzi’s marinara sauce is intentionally a thin sauce, and we suggest using the bread slices to sop up the sauce to enjoy!
