Caraluzzi’s Bethel Market Wins 2018 Retailer of the Year award from Bozzuto's Inc.

 

BETHEL, CT – Caraluzzi’s Markets attended the annual Independent Retailer Conference at Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, CT in March to receive the 2018 Retailer of the Year award.  The annual award is presented each March by Bozzuto’s Inc., a leading food distributor serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

Winners are selected from hundreds of retail grocers covering a 10-state area.  The winners are announced at the annual March Bozzuto’s Food Show as part of the Excellence Awards ceremony and dinner.  Bozzuto’s recognizes their superior retailers and individuals who have made a difference in their organizations.  “We look for those individuals and organizations who are making the strongest positive impact, and Caraluzzi’s has demonstrated that they are the best of the best,” said Michael Bozzuto, Chairman, President and CEO of Bozzuto’s Inc.  “We are tremendously appreciative of their continued partnership and ability to set the standard of excellence for those in our industry.”

After 7 months of a major remodel, Caraluzzi’s Bethel Market is poised to meet the growing needs of their customers.  The Caraluzzi’s started in Bethel almost 70 years ago with the purchase of the Bethel Fruit and Vegetable Market.  The store has undergone one relocation, five expansions, and six major remodels, always reinvesting to better serve the community.  The store has full service departments that include Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Prepared Foods, Café and Floral.  As part of the remodel, the store tripled the size of their kitchen and also expanded Produce, Bakery, Meat, Seafood, Deli and Dairy.  “We’ve expanded our local, organic, and gourmet options throughout the store, adding thousands of new items.” said Mr. Caraluzzi
