BACKGROUND FACTS
Company History:

In 1949 Anthony Caraluzzi, Sr. purchased the Bethel Fruit and Vegetable Market after 27 years in the supermarket industry. Over the years the flagship Bethel store relocated to its current location in the center of Bethel, Ct and has also undergone five major expansions.

In 2001, with the business well into its third generation of family management and expansion plans on the horizon, the grand re-opening of the Bethel Location included a name change, adding “Caraluzzi’s” to the storefront exterior and signage. Then in 2003 Caraluzzi’s Georgetown Market opened in Wilton, CT in the former site of an A&P supermarket. In 2012 the Georgetown market saw an addition and a remodel, expanding every department. In 2008, Caraluzzi’s added its third market in Newtown, Connecticut’s historic borough.

Caraluzzi’s retail operations also include wine and spirits at Caraluzzi’s Nutmeg Discount Liquors in Bethel, CT.

Family owned and operated for over 64 years, Caraluzzi’s Markets maintains an outstanding level of service, quality, and competitive prices for a pleasing shopping experience that keeps customers coming back.
