Caraluzzi’s Markets Will Soon Open New Danbury Location

DANBURY–After a little over a year of construction on a vacant parcel of land on Mill Plain Road in Danbury, Caraluzzi’s Markets is preparing to open. "Supply issues with certain construction materials, along with delays with key equipment and fixtures to fit out the space, was a hurdle but timing wise it’s still a relatively short period for a project of this scope." said Mark Caraluzzi, President and CEO of Caraluzzi’s Markets.

The store has been conducting Job Fairs and Hiring events looking to fill the roughly 170 new positions. Several management positions will be filled by promotions from within the company. “Having growth and expansion in the company is great for our team members to develop their skills and have an opportunity to move up the corporate ladder”. said Caraluzzi

The new location plays on the strengths of our existing stores especially the perishables such as meat, seafood, produce, and prepared foods by offering a better quality and variety of products than the typical chain stores — all while keeping prices at what the competition does for their basic quality. Our reputation has always centered around the meat department with the finest quality cuts of beef with Certified Angus Beef brand as our entry level product that others may offer but if so, it is a more expensive upgrade. Our seafood market is unmatched with quality, variety, and freshness. Daily deliveries ensure the peak of quality and freshness which sets us apart from the competition. Our produce buyer is always seeking out a premium quality or size fruit and vegetable to bring in for a lower price which provides added value to our customers.

Our Bakery is another one of our signature standouts. Here customers will find an amazing selection of store made cakes and specialty items for any occasion along with signature baked breads, scones, cookies and much more.

Specific to the new Danbury location, customers will be able to enjoy traditional wood fired Neapolitan style pizzas, expanded café offerings of soft serve ice cream, acai bowls, and smoothies to compliment gelato and a variety of specialty brewed coffees and teas.

Although the retail sector is infiltrated with national chain store competition, Caraluzzi’s has been successfully growing as a local independent by focusing on customers’ changing needs, having unique product offerings, competitive pricing, and outstanding customer service. This third-generation family owned and operated business (with some fourth generation members starting to work in the stores) prides itself as working side by side with team members to create a family-like atmosphere amongst the entire staff.

The Danbury location is complemented by a Caraluzzi’s Wine & Spirits located right next door. The customer convenience of one stop shopping for food and wine is a natural fit.

A formal opening date has not been set yet but will be in the coming month. Multi-week promotional, grand-opening plans are also in the works along with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. More information to come.
